Friday, April 21st is The Main Event’s IMPROV NIGHT at Bexley’s newly renovated, and even more beautiful Drexel Theater. The Main Event Committee welcomes Here: The Musical, staring Tara DeFrancisco and Rance Rizzutto. While Tara and Rance perform locally as improve comedians at The Nest Theater in downtown Columbus, they also have toured their act internationally and are both veterans of the popular Second City Company in Chicago.
About the show: HERE the Musical
Acclaimed as Critic’s Choice in The Chicago Tribune, A-LIST in the Chicago Sun-Times, READER Recommended and Shortlisted, and hailed as “Nothing Short of Genius” by NPR! This show is a feat of improvisation – a two person, fully improvised musical play. The players get one suggestion to inspire theme through an opening number, create characters and storylines inspired by the theme, and effortlessly weave the strings together to discover one piece. Not one ounce of music has been pre-conceived before the show begins. Funny, beautiful, and charming, HERE has been called groundbreaking, and “has shown something new and amazing is possible in improvisation” by audiences around the globe. Performed by veteran improvisers Tara DeFrancisco & Rance Rizzutto (feat. musical direction by rotating artists); Inspiration from you, the audience.
The evening starts at 6pm with a sidewalk festival in front of Drexel Theater that will include the Blu Olive food truck and jazz music from the Zakk Jones Trio. Mayor Kessler promises a custom made signature cocktail to compliment the evening.
